SOLEN ER SÅ RØD
Simon Ganshorn arbejder med maleriet på en særlig måde. På den ene side ønsker han at skabe værker, der kommer beskueren i møde, og som er rolige og beroligende. På den anden side rummer værkerne også en modstand. Måske er der sat klips i lærredet, eller han har klippet i det. Ellers også bruger han forskellige materialer, som fx plastik, karklude eller aflagt tøj i en slags væghængte assemblager. Fælles for de malede værker og assemblagerne er, at der er mange lag at gå på opdagelse i.
På denne udstilling har Simon Ganshorn valgt at lade værkerne indgå i en installation i den ene af galleriets rum. I rummet vil være indrettet med møbler og tæpper. Det er et hjemligt og velkendt sted og så alligevel ikke. Ganshorn ønsker at pege på, hvordan man midt i alt det pæne og raffinerede kan sidde med al sit begær, angst eller andre følelser, som knytter sig til de livsrum, som vi opholder os i. Han forsøger at finde på fortællinger til disse rum.
Simon Ganshorn (1985) er uddannet på Glasgow School of Art i 2020 og Det Fynske Kunstakademi, hvor han tog afgang i 2023. Han bor og arbejder i København.
